The school takes place from August 4 to 14. The number of applicants is limited. Participants are expected to attend the school for the full period. See bottom for more detailed information.
We propose a registration fee ( accounting for infrastructure expenses, collective buses, participants lunches, pauses, drinks and food duting the poster sessions,...) of 550 euros. This does not include evening meals.
Accommodation is provided to all participants within the IESC conference center. Prices range from 380 euros for a double room to 502 euros for a single room (to be added to the registration fee), covering all the school period. Financial support may be granted to a limited number of participants. ICAM in particular grants fellowships available to US based applicants to cover the registration fee and contribute towards travel expenses.
Applications are now open. Late deadline is extended until July 24. The successful outcome of these late applications will depend on space availability and budget.
Click here to submit your application (you must create an account and log in before), or use the link under MY SPACE. You will be first asked to submit a title and an abstract for a poster. This is not mandatory, in case you do not want to submit a title/abstract you may write "non applicable". In a second step you will be asked to upload an application form (which you must download and complete). We strongly advise you to upload it as a PDF. If you encounter any difficulty or problem in the application process send an email to marcello.civelli@u-psud.fr .
ACCOMMODATION
You will have to pay on place to the Cargese Institute the accommodation cost (EU 380 for a shared room, EU 502 for a single room, for all the school period). This includes the night of Monday August 3, the day you are supposed to arrive and the night of August 14.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE DAYS AND BUSES FROM AJACCIO AIRPORT
The Cargese organization is planning to provide buses from Ajaccio airport on Monday August 3. The departure time of the buses is predicted to be around 16h30, when the highest peak of arriving flights is predicted. The departure day is Saturday August 15. Buses will leave in the morning. The Cargese organization suggests to take flights leaving at 11h30-12h00. The accommodation rate offered by the Cargese Institute covers all this period from August 3 (arrival day) to August 15 (departure day). People arriving at different times/days are supposed to take care by their own of the connection from Ajaccio to Cargese. Cost of taxi is around EU 100 one way (EU 150 at nights), few public buses are available, see http://www.corsicabus.org/
The organization will try to help any specific case, but at this stage we cannot make definitive commitments.
PS. Program of the school is not complete yet, therefore there are stile "holes", namely Friday August 14 afternoon, which will be covered.
ACCOMPANYING PERSONS
The statement on our webpage https://corso2015.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/7 : "The rules at the IESC do not allow in practice to host accompanying persons within the center." means that a participant is not expected to come accompanied, because the rules of the Cargese Institute allow only the 10% of accompanying people within the Cargese Institute facilities, and priority is given to lecturers. Beyond this 10% value, people can be hosted in nearby Hotels, or at the Cargese Village (a bit away from the Institute, 25 minutes good walking distance I think). Then accommodation fares are the one of local Hotels, much more than the deal offered at the Cargese Institute (like 110 Euros per night, depends on the Hotel). Therefore if you plan to come with accompanied, please let us know by e-mail as soon as possible. We will try to help to eventually find for you the best possible solution.
